Hallo James, you describe the adjectives so well that pictures pop into my head. It’s easier for me to learn the vocabulary that way. Thanks!
For example, you say: expensive and castle. So my brain presents a picture with Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes in “A game of Shadows” and his butler Stanley in Shirburn Castle.
As a German, I associate the word “opulent” with food: ein opulentes Essen – a sumptuous dinner.
My answers to the homework:
She’s mysterious, an alluring beauty.
His watch was opulent.
The view from the 50th floor was … ? The view from the Sharp (69th floor) was impressive, not breathtaking.
