Even though I’m a native speaker of English, I still have problems quoting the words in “the air” while speaking to people. I’ve heard they call it “Air-quoting” or something, when we’re being sarcastic, so yea, uhm, I think it would be nice and helpful to many students, including native speakers like me, if you do a lesson on “Air-quoting stuff when we speak” … I appreciate that, thanks a lot.

Technically, you should say “you’re responsible for him or her” because “child” is singular, but “them” is much more practical and useful in this case. Your sentence is fine.

A million is singular, and millions is plural. For example, “A vacation like that would cost a million dollars!” is much different than “A vacation like that would cost millions of dollars!” (many millions)

However, when you know the exact value, just say it…like “two million,” “three million,” “one million,” etc.

You’re using the past tense, or a conditional if you used “I’d have” in this case. I suppose you COULD use it if you were saying something like, “If I had the money, I think I’d have,” but it’s not a common situation.

In the above sentence I am doubtful about “haven’t”.What if I used “hadn’t/wasn’t/won’t”.I am not getting the difference here.

“If you hadn’t replied…” is the correct sentence here. You need to use the past perfect form, because you’re talking about the past in the past.

“hadn’t” is used with the past perfect, and needs a past participle after it.

“wasn’t” is used with the simple past. It’s just the verb “to be” in the past.

“won’t” is the negative of “will.” It is used with the simple future.

You are clearly very fluent in spoken and written English but it is important to be correct and grammatical when you are writing.

“Wanna”, “gonna” and “’cause” are not acceptable contractions in written English. You must write “want to” “going to” and “because” in full. Apostrophy s (‘s) indicates possession or elision; “thanks ” is the plural form of thank.

Hello Alex! Thanks for your lesson! It’s very useful! But I have one question. Why did you say “A coffee, please”, “AN orange juice” and “A tea”. As I know all these nouns are uncountable, so I was taught that we can’t use an indefinite article with them. And also I have a question from the Quiz (from the lesson about countable and uncountable nouns). Would you like _____________ pizza? SOME or A FEW. I wrote SOME because pizza is also non-count (as I thought). But it was a mistake… And I don’t understand why.
