You can use or be or was..It depends of the tense you use..if you want to say something which already happened you use was and for the present you use be..

if i remember right leaves you will use only with he she or it so at your sentence you should use leave. If you would write she he or it you would use leaves

“am” is verb and
“busy” is an adjective
Note: The above example given by me represent subject after verb and i noticed in test paper to be + subject which one is correct.

The verb to be is one of the most difficult to comprehend when you are a Spanish native speaker, specially because we have two different verbs to express what you do with just one. It depends on the usage of the modal! Sometimes we use modal + have + p.p. Sometimes present tense!

When I can use To Be verb? or To Do verb?
for example: do you hungry? or are you hungry?
If the word is an adjective, you must use to be. Ex…hungry is an adjective so you must say I am hungry!
Sub + to be + adjective.
Sub + do + noun. I do homework. I do the dishes.

Have disappeared = present perfect.
Has been condensed = present perfect passive!

But Why is it then correct to say “everyone is”? because everyone means that it is many people we talk about.
Because when we are many we use are. But as I understand it is correct to say: everyone is.
