to
home”? “I’m going school” or “I’m going to
school?” Why do we use to
with some words and not with others? In this English grammar class, I’ll teach you many words that don’t go with to
. This is a mistake that sounds bad to native speakers, so try to learn these words and stop making this mistake!

Hi, Both the lesson & you are cool…:-)
The 9th question in the quiz has spelling mistake, Pete when ———— home…. ||| I think it should be Peter went ——— home…
Thanks…
I agree with that :D
I agree with that it is to correct.:D
yes ! >_<~
thank u
peter is name of bad thing lolz
That’s wrong… You should say Peter went home
Yes, Ronnie is a gorgeous teacher!, she have many resources and magic tricks for teach us and the class is easy for each student, it´s a great lesson for the beginner.
Something that’s very common in English is to shorten a name, sometimes by just a letter. That’s the case here. “Pete” is the short form of Peter, so while it’s informal, “Pete” is still correct. In fact, there’s a movie I loved when I was little called, “Pete’s Dragon.”
Hi Ronnie!
Thank’s for the lesson. I guess that in 9-th quiz’s question is a bad word?
thanks ronnie for ur help
Thanks for this wonderful lesson =]
To listen to you is to learn, thanks Ronnie
Hi Ronnie, how are you? you rock! You have visited Brazil? if it did not, is invited, you’ll like it! :)
Hello Anderson, let me correct your sentence: “Have you ever been to Brazil? If not, you’are invited to do, you’ll like it!”
É isso aí :)
Hi Thulius, nice correction, but let me make it better: “Have you ever been to Brazil? If not, you’are invited to, you’ll like it!”
Sem o “to do”
Valeu!
Thanks for your video, Ronnie. I thin the 9th quiz should be:
Pete went (not when) _________ home because he was sick.
Nice lesson from Ronnie again. I suppose ‘home’ can be seen an adverb of place and this way must be used without ‘to’ preposition. Note: one quiz question should probably be written: Peter went home.
i think so
yeah this also came in my mind that ‘home’ can be an adverb of place.. cant it??
It`s long time ago no get 10 out of 10. Nice to see u again Ronny.
Best regards

Hi,
I really like the way you teach, & u have cleared many doubt of mine in English writing & grammar.
Pete when _________ home because he was sick.
I have a doubt :
I really don’t under stand the question.
y we don’t use ‘to’ before home, in question 9. or the question is pete went ___ home because he was sick. then again why we don’t use the to before home. I don’t know if i m right or wrong. But plz advise me with the doubt.
Kindly suggest is there any mistake in my English writing.
Good video, there´s a mistake or error in the question 9: Peter went home, not Peter when home.
Thanks a lot
Can you give us another lessen when we can use “from” please
Thanks

two articles….. ((
mmm can i say ( we are going fishing ) or i have to use ( to )?
thanks
:)
Thank you for your lessons. How can I copy your lessons in my pen drive and use it at my home where internet facility is not available. K.Pushparaj
Somehow Ronnie doesn’t take a part in this forum. Maybe later, well.
@ abdoth, if I may:
“I’m going fishing”. If it means that you have an intention to go to do fishing soon, then you should say “I’m going to fish”.
In case you want to say that you are already on your way to the place where you will fish, then you should say “I’m going to fishing place/area.
Something like that, I suppose. But not sure for 100% percent.
I have found out about the sentence “I’m going fishing” from a native speaker.
So the sentence “I’m going fishing” is ok.
:)
WOW,Thanks teacher Ronnie~!
that`s so fun and useful!
I clearly understand when use “to” or not.

Hi Ronnie,
Superb video ! …. here few information for those who really want to know why not use TO HOME :)
In this phrase “Go home”, home is not a noun but an adverb
Specifically, it is an adverb of place
So you do not need a preposition like “to” prior to home.
The Longman Dictionary specifies
Do not use a preposition (a word such as ‘at’ or ‘to’) before home when it is an adverb
