very useful lesson.Thanks a lot.
Hillarious an interesting class as usual James. Your sense of humour makes learning a long-lasting experience.
Just one question James: What’s the difference between “Taking your hat off to someone” and “Tipping your hat to someone”? Are these two expressions synonyms?
P.S. I know that you will keep me wainting for your reply for ages, but you know what James? I do not really mind. What matters is learning not matter what it takes.
Take care! See you round.
☺ wooh…! 10/10. I found this lesson so much interesting just like you james. Thanks!
Very helpful lessons☺.thanks a lot.
Dear engvid, please record the lessons at higher volume because with smartphones they are too low to hear. Thanks
I’ve got 10/10, but I didn’t quite understand ‘tip the scales’. Does the 10th question mean that Mr. dropped or gained weight, or something else?
Here tip the scales used for heavy body build sports person like wrestlers etc. Who has much weigh than usual person also they have competition between their competitor to achieve their targeted goal. Let suppose if A person has weigh 300kg which is the most higher than the others so that would be the challenge for the others to achieve it and if B got that weigh . In that way we say .Mr.B tips the scale of Mr.A. ( This is what i got , for more clarification we should wait for james reply)
Hello KLLCR
In this context “tip the scales” only means that Mr E is maybe about to wrestle or box and to confirm what category he competes he went onto a scale which displayed his 0.2 lbs weight .
Now , you can also use “tip the scales” with the same meaning that “tip the balance” in another context
See : http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/tip+the+scales
Hope this help
Bye

Good job James! You always give us handy tips. Thanks!
In Brazil, generally speaking, we only tip the waiters in more expensive restaurants. As a matter of fact, they usually add 10% of the price in the bill before asking us whether we are pleased with the service or not… Anyway, it’s optional here.
Until next time!
