Become a better writer: How to use personification

This lesson will transform your writing by making it richer and more interesting to read. How can you do that, you ask? By using personification, a style of writing which makes an object come to life as if it were a person. Let me explain. If you haven’t done your homework one night, and it is getting late, you might stare at your school books and feel anger or panic. You could say, “My evil textbooks were staring at me, laughing”. Of course, your books are objects that have no emotions, but as a person, you might attribute feelings to objects, and this is what we call personification. The next time you write a story, why not use this technique once or twice, to make the text more engaging? Watch the lesson to find out how to use this technique, with plenty of examples.

I didn’t get the last one. The proper answer is “none” just because you didn’t really say in the sentence that the printer managed to finish the jobs, am I right? The machine had only the intention of doing sth, and that’s all, correct?

Well, I did the quiz and I have doubted in three questions about cars, washing machines and tables but in the end, I guessed the right answers although I didn’t write to them… Always the same, besides I should be grateful for our teacher’s lesson, it was very interesting and amusing. Hi, I enjoyed this lecture immensely.
I wrote quite similar sentences with the words:
”
-Her shoes were biting her toes as she tried to walk downhill.
-The hoover was roaring as she tried to clean the carpets in the big room.
– The letter hid their biggest secrets.
– The key refused to turn as expected, and they could not walk in the vault.”
