Can I ask you a small question:Why do you like fall?Is that your birthday?
phamquynhanh
My birthday is in mid-March.
I like the fall because of the cool air, the variety of colours, and the way everything changes. I also enjoy fall fashion more than the other seasons.

Nice but words are difficult to remember….
brc75
It takes time and repetition. You can do it!
Alex
Thanks, Alex. However, I agree with brc75, some words are hard to keep in mind, ’cause they’re not so comum, I guess, like mulch, lawn mower and reap. Perhaps in a few couple of days we might forget them.

Alex
Thanks for this important vocabulary lesson, Alex.
In North America, the fall begins, here, in South America, spring. I like both, but I know, undoubtedly, that in there the seasons are more expressive.
Fabio Cicerre
That’s an interesting way of saying it. I’m not sure what the fall really looks like in Brazil, but I can agree that the fall in Canada is definitely expressive. :)

Hi Alex,

I feel more alive in this season of the year. I feel moving forward, discover a lot of things. So thanks again, Alex. Even though these words were a lot easy for my language level, it was nice to watch your video lesson. You are a great teacher.

Hi Alex, thanks for your lessons! One doubt: what does it mean the word Wickerman, or Wicker Man? Is the same as scarecrow or there’s nothing to do? By the way, could you teach us the differences between yet and already, and their different uses? It’s a good theme for a grammar lesson!
Valderí Andrade
I’ve already done a lesson on “yet” and “already”. You can find it here:
It’s an older one, but the information is still good. :)
I’ve actually never used the term “wicker man” before. I only know it as the title to a Nicolas Cage movie.
Alex
Yes, I”ll watch it! Thank you very much!
Valderí Andrade
very interesting,easy understanding,Thank you!

You’re welcome! :)
Alex
Thank you Alex! That’s a very useful vocabulary!
Could you please make a video about “filming” vocabulary, how movies are created and all that names of the people who do this. That would be very interesting :)
Anna
Not a bad idea. :) Thanks. I’ll put it on “the list”.
Alex
Hi Alexx,
Your lesson is great.
I notice when you reply to students, you say”
I would say”, so why do you always use “would” in your answer?
Is there a “would” in the present simple?
would, could, might, should…
gag
I’m using the second conditional for advice. This is the full and common structure:
“If you asked me, I would say…”
Alex
Wow, it’s a convincing reply, Alex.
Thanks,
gag
hi alex i am going to teach number of student for the frist time, i have no exprience , could you give me some tips to make them intrested .please
m 16
Find out what they’re interested in and make sure they form a good relationship with one another -and- with you. The most important thing is for students to feel comfortable and like they are in a safe learning environment.
Alex
thank you very much ,and the last one, how can i start conversation among them ,i teach interchang books and it has number of conversations part , as you know it,is it good to ask them to read one by one ? what is your suggestion?
m 16
Hello Mr.M . Your behaviour in your class for teaching or personal cases depend on yourself and also your students. For example the number ot the students , the size of the class, the level of the students , their motivations and other things. you may change your way of teaching class by class. You and your students can find the best practical way TOGETHER. I hope you get the point. Best regarda :soei

Hi Alex
I am writing my IELTS exam on Oct 24. I couldn’t be able to score more than 6 in my mock tests. How can I improve my ability to score 7.5, within this short period of time? Is it enough? I am ready to put hard work. By doing more mock tests, can I improve? Could you please suggest me any website for reading and speaking?
thanks
sudha v
Hi sudha, I know that Emma has a lot of IELTS lessons on our site. I have also created an academic word list that you might find useful for your writing, reading, and speaking.
1 month is not a long time to improve that dramatically, but it’s not impossible if you learn some of the basic tricks, especially for the speaking section. Again, I would search for Emma’s videos.
Alex
Thank you Alex, your lessons are very clear. Thanks for teaching. I love Engvid.

It’s not a common verb and is usually only used in the context of mulching leaves.

Dear, This my previous message to all EngVid teachers via YouTube channel but no answer yet
Dear all marvellous EngVid English teacher, l have started watching since a year and since then, I admired your tube lessons. Therfore, i downloaded hundreds of them, then converted them to MP3 and because i daily drive to my work, i really enjoy every single word not only grammar. Sometimes i stop beside the high way to translate attractive new words . your lessons, your topic and your way are definitely interesting. Thanks to you all… Plaese For my sake make a tube of a comparison between all fashion English and new one, are we wrong if still use old one, hopefully, mention common example… I will be proud if you motion my name in the lesson. MUBARAK AL FARSI, from Oman

many thanks to teacher , Everything about your video is cool . I really love its!

There are some mistakes on the next short text. Could you find them?
In this lesson, Alex talked about his favorite season, he explains some words and situations about autumn or fall and the fact we can use both words to refer to the season after summer. The most common home activities in this season are a rake or mulch the leaves, specially meanwhile it rustle, and in the cases of farmers, put scarecrows in their field to scare the birds from before they reap the harvest. Another is bundled up, it’s a phrasal verb that means you have to dress warmly. Some things characterize come with the autumn, for example, change the colour of leaves before they fall off of the trees, and the temperature drops or goes down. Thanks, Alex. (It’s a really nice scarf)
Androp
You made those words into the sentence, its perfectly cool

I’m living y Ivory Coast, that’s interesting to know the vocabulary about the autumn or the spring. But you would think that many of your learners, like me, are in the other regions of the world (Brazil, India, Ivory Coast…) and they don’t know the seasons of the North. I propose to you to explain some lessons about the particularities of the other regions of the world. Your lessons are known in the whole world!

I’m happy to practice English here with your lessons.Thanks.
Thanks for studying with engVid, Judith!
Farmers use Batman to frighten birds. :)
That works too!
Simple to understand but the “spelling quix” wasn’t so easy :)
Thanks, Alex.
You’re welcome. Keep studying. :)
First I need to thank you for all your helpful lessons
Can I ask you a small question:Why do you like fall?Is that your birthday?
My birthday is in mid-March.
I like the fall because of the cool air, the variety of colours, and the way everything changes. I also enjoy fall fashion more than the other seasons.
Hellow teacher, good explanations.
I’ll follow in others topics.
Thank you very much.
You’re welcome! Thanks for supporting engVid.
Thanks for simple and efficient vocabulary. and explanation
That’s my goal. Thanks for watching.

We all have our personal preferences. Thanks for watching!
Hi Flavio,
I would like to practice and improve our English together. And of course, if you don’t mind too. Besides, you know, it’s always great to learn other customs and traditions. All in all, I would be pleased if you write me back. My e-mail is seferova.r@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Roya.

Thank you for the lesson. It’s very nice gift for my Birthday. Now you know why I love september ! :)
Wszystkiego najlepszego! Happy birthday, Magda!
Thanks!
Nice but words are difficult to remember….
It takes time and repetition. You can do it!
Thanks, Alex. However, I agree with brc75, some words are hard to keep in mind, ’cause they’re not so comum, I guess, like mulch, lawn mower and reap. Perhaps in a few couple of days we might forget them.
*common
I completely understand. It’s why reviewing regularly is so important. I’m trying to do the same with French.
thanks all
Hello, Alex! You are a great teacher and your explanation is excellent. I got 100! Thank you.
Perfect! Great job! Thanks for studying with engVid!
Thanks for this important vocabulary lesson, Alex.
In North America, the fall begins, here, in South America, spring. I like both, but I know, undoubtedly, that in there the seasons are more expressive.
That’s an interesting way of saying it. I’m not sure what the fall really looks like in Brazil, but I can agree that the fall in Canada is definitely expressive. :)
excellent lesson
Thanks a lot!
Thanks Alex! Awesome, really a good class
You’re welcome! Thank you very much for clicking.
Luar Biasa,.. Thanks alex

Hi Alex,
Thank you for this lesson. I love autumn too. I like the leaves crackling under my feet and hear rustling behind me as I am walking. I want just keep walking and not to turn to my back. I feel more alive in this season of the year. I feel moving forward, discover a lot of things. So thanks again, Alex. Even though these words were a lot easy for my language level, it was nice to watch your video lesson. You are a great teacher.
Regards,
Roya.
Thank you, Roya. I try to make lessons for various levels.

Nice lesson, I learned two new words. Thanks
That’s awesome. Thanks for studying with engVid.
I’ve already done a lesson on “yet” and “already”. You can find it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-Aex9jhKHs
It’s an older one, but the information is still good. :)
I’ve actually never used the term “wicker man” before. I only know it as the title to a Nicolas Cage movie.
Yes, I”ll watch it! Thank you very much!
very interesting,easy understanding,Thank you!
You’re welcome! :)
Thank you Alex! That’s a very useful vocabulary!
Could you please make a video about “filming” vocabulary, how movies are created and all that names of the people who do this. That would be very interesting :)
Not a bad idea. :) Thanks. I’ll put it on “the list”.
Hi Alexx,
Your lesson is great.
I notice when you reply to students, you say”
I would say”, so why do you always use “would” in your answer?
Is there a “would” in the present simple?
would, could, might, should…
I’m using the second conditional for advice. This is the full and common structure:
“If you asked me, I would say…”
Wow, it’s a convincing reply, Alex.
Thanks,
hi alex i am going to teach number of student for the frist time, i have no exprience , could you give me some tips to make them intrested .please
Find out what they’re interested in and make sure they form a good relationship with one another -and- with you. The most important thing is for students to feel comfortable and like they are in a safe learning environment.
thank you very much ,and the last one, how can i start conversation among them ,i teach interchang books and it has number of conversations part , as you know it,is it good to ask them to read one by one ? what is your suggestion?
Could you please suggest me any website for reading and speaking?
thanks
Hi sudha, I know that Emma has a lot of IELTS lessons on our site. I have also created an academic word list that you might find useful for your writing, reading, and speaking.
https://www.engvid.com/english-resource/academic-word-list/
1 month is not a long time to improve that dramatically, but it’s not impossible if you learn some of the basic tricks, especially for the speaking section. Again, I would search for Emma’s videos.
Thank you Alex, your lessons are very clear. Thanks for teaching. I love Engvid.

Google Translate doesn’t help with the definition of mulching. It’s sounds even more complicated to me now :(
It’s not a common verb and is usually only used in the context of mulching leaves.
Dear, This my previous message to all EngVid teachers via YouTube channel but no answer yet

Very good lesson, here in Brazil our word for this season is autumn, we don´t have a word comparable with fall. Actually we say in this seasons the leaves fall, but we do not use the word fall as synonymous of autumn.
thank you so much Alex, see you in next lesson
many thanks to teacher , Everything about your video is cool .

Very interesting and helpful lesson! Thaks a lot!
