s
at the end of a word. This can lead to confusion. For example, if you say, “I like dog”, it will be interpreted as meaning that you like to eat dog meat, not that you love these cute animals as pets! In this lesson, you will learn when you should pronounce the s
at the end of some words in order to be clear in your meaning and avoid embarrassing confusion.

thank you for your clarification
Ronnie , I have still some confusion regarding to question 4 and 10. In ques. 4 Why it is not like “These are 400 dollars shoes ” and similarly in ques. 10 : Why it is not ” 800 dollars vacation”? . As you said if something is more than one so we put “s” with it. Need your help.
Hello Anny ,
400-dollar and 800-dollar are adjectives and you can’t put an s at the end of an adjective . Hope this helps
See what Ronnie will say .
Yeah . I want that too, further more desription from Ronnie’s side. Thank you tsamp .This helped me a little bit. I am always confused among adjectives. Can you suggest me how do i overcome from that weakness?
Yes you right, Tsamp. I was ignoring the hyphen mistakenly, which was put between the adjective. I got it, why the S couldn’t fix here becuase it’s a compound adjective that comes before noun. Thanks once again.
You’re welcome !
Hi Anny, you asked that why ques.4 because dollar is countable noun therefor. ques 10. is because there is a 800 dollar so we have (a) it means that she payed only one 800 dollar. i hope it helps
i also have this confusion
Thank you some much and i like to take more

Good morning Ronnie I got 7 out of 10 correct answer for the test Use the S. Thanks! :)
WHY i can not see the vedio, please help
9/10 . thank you my funny teacher .
I got 7 out of 10 can you explain question no. 4 and question 10.
Hello Muhammad. I’ll try to help you.
* As an adjective, the singular is used:
“A 400-dollar shoes.”
“A 800-dollar vacation.”
* As a noun, the plural is used:
“I paid 400 dollars for these shoes.”
“She paid 1300 dollars for her vacation.”
A small correction:
“An 800-dollar vacation.”
I hope you got it. Bye!
Thank you very much Julio Cesar.
NO i’m still confuse could you please helpme out with this?
It’s all perfectly clear if we’re talking about cats and dogs, but what if we’re talking about sheep and fish? At school I learnt that we should say “a herd of sheep” and “a school of fish”; so what if I say “I like sheep” meaning that I love spending my time with ovines, but I definitely wouldn’t eat their flesh?
Well, sheep meat is called “mutton” (for grown sheep) and “lamb” (for baby sheep). But “I like fish” could either mean the live animals, or fish as food. Sometimes you have to rely on context.
Thanks a lot, now it’s much clearer and, by the way, I found the distinction between mutton and lamb very interesting.
P.S.: if the meaning depends from context, you can rely on a formidable source for jokes!
Thank you for clarification ??
I understood, Ronnie ! Thanks a lot !
Thanks a lot Ronnie!!!Nice lesson!!
Hi Anny
Also when you see the artical before the adjective that’s it is a single. Hope this help Okay

Thanks Ronnie,…., But I made a mistake in the question 10. I thought that I needed to add an S in the word “dollar”,…, I do not now, what happened?,…, Could you please give an explanation about that?,….
Hi. Question 10 contains an adjective compound, and the word “dollar” is part of it.
Basically, an adjective compound is when you use 2 or more words to describe a noun. They are placed before the noun, and you shouldn’t put an ‘S’ in it. Also, you have to write a dash (-) between those words.
Examples: “a 7-year-old boy”, “a blue-eyed woman”, or “a 800-dollar vacation.”
Adam made a video teaching how to recognize and use them properly. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUM1O2pkLJM

Hi bro
Thank Youuuu
thank you. :)
Hi Ronnie, Thanks a lot for the wonderful teaching. Actually, I want your advice how do I start to learn the English grammars ? is there a step by step learning or which one I need to learn first and then carries on ?
for example; nouns – verb – adverb – adjective – pronoun – tenses – prepositions – clause – phrases………. and so on.
Which one I have to learn at the beginning and continues it, is there a pattern from 1-10 and so on…. ?
hey, hi :)

Hi Ronnie Good day,
i would like to ask why i am wrong with this two questions below.
9. How many _________ do you want when you grow up?
children
childrens
10. My mother paid 1300 dollars for her vacation last year. This year, she is shopping for a 800-________ vacation instead.
dollar
dollars
Child is singular
Children is plural
You don’t need to put s in children.
Thank you, Ronnie! I like your sense of humor.
Thank you Ronnie for your clarification. It was very clear. I understood everythinh that you said.I am a beginner and I need someone to speak with, because I do not have any friends who can speak English with me. May someone help me?

7/10 not bad.
Hi Ronnie. Please. I don’t understand the last quiz question. Why “dollar” and not “dollars”.
Thank you for helping me.
I dont understand that adverbs, adjective and all these grammer thing . this is too much confusing.I have been learning grammer when i was a school student. But I failed to understand.
I hate grammer.
why 400 dollars and 800 dollar ?
sorry I’m so rude to you
but I m fed up of this things.
Can I conclude that: when we used no/any/every combined with one/body, we should use a singular verb and possibly a singular noun?
Ma’am still I have confusion in question 4 and 10
I think im still dont understand
Thanks, the lesson is great!!
Very nice
thanks!
Thank you ronni, you are my best
I not understand this word, “Farmer McDonald milks his cows every morning.” why it has a S in a word “milks”. because milk is uncountable noun.
In this case “milks” is a verb in Present Simple.
If you want to get some milk you need to milk a cow.
Thanks for your explanation.
You’re welcome!
Thanks Ronnie for the clarification and i hope you gonna teach us more like S objects
im gonna be a teacher yes i can do it then thanks ronnie i apraciate all the lessons u have ever done

Thank you.. but can’t I get explaination for my wrong answers..?
An 800 dollar vacation would be wonderful. Are you buying?
Why in10 question we use Dollar not dollars??
I got 7 out of 10…?
Hi Ha232no,In above tsamp was explained about the hyphen.800-dollar & 400-dollar are adjectives because of the hyphen(-).So, we can’t put s at the end of adjective.Hope this helps.
Thanks, Ronnie! I love your Lessons very much!
Thanks
Thanks
thanks Ronnie
Thanks!
