sentence stress
and demonstrate with lots of examples. You’ll practice listening to two stories and learn how different stress and intonation can change the meaning of a sentence or add hidden meanings to it. This is an important part of speaking English clearly and correctly, and will help you with your English comprehension. In English, there is a saying: “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” By the end of this lesson you’ll know just how true this is!

Hello,
Do you know any programs or courses that support or open the opportunity for studying English and we can work for living in the same time?
Thank you.
Hello Benjamin!
This is a very instructive video to understand the stress in the english language.
Moreover, my wish would be could you make a video including differents idioms with OFF like your first sentence.
By the way good job and see you next time.
Thank you!
I got 10/10. I think it works the same like in all languages. At least, absolutly the same like in Russian and Ukrainian languages.
Thanks Benjamin!
I did a mistake only for the fifth answer. Never mind. It’s quite good. 90/100
Oh, pardon “I made a mistake” not “I did a mistake”

Hi everyone ,
“I didn’t say she stole my money”
Put the stress on each word one by one and there will be 7 different meaning ..!
Thanks Benjamin!
YOU explained the sentence stress very well. :)
This is a joke — the other teachers here are great too!
The implicit irony or sarcasm using stress works in Portuguese sentences as well, but better when accompanied with gestures.
Hey, this is very, very interesting. I haven’t had such fun recently. Thanks.
That’s a nice lesson Benjamin! Cheers!

Hey Benjamin, you are right as many times! it so important the intonation in our phrases… questions and answers even in our own language, some times i do not understand what my students ask to me or say! i have to rephrase the whole sentences in order to “understand” but it is quite important let them know why!
I got 10/10 by your great assistance!
Bye for now!
My best regards!

Hello Amanda,
how much is the adjective of quantity. So how much is used to tell or to say that how much part of the is cleaned.
Benjamin.. Please don’t be mad but you look like Rony Weasley!!! XD
Hello, Benjamin…Thanks for the video…It is very helpful… I really want to speak like a Native Spreaker, so your video helps me a lot. I would rather deal with those sentence stresses than stresses on my English learning (just kidding :) )…

Me too. I’m happy. ^_^
Benjamin, you’re very incredible! Thank you so much!
Thank you Benjamin. It is very good to hearing your British accent.
I don’t understand this question, please explain me .
7. Which question does the following sentence answer?
Ashley cleaned THE ENTIRE house.
Who is Ashley?
What did Ashley clean?
How much of the house did Ashley clean?
What does Ashley do for a living?
What did Ashley clean?
Hi vanessa.. Please Notice that all the questions stress the words which at the end are the answer for the questions. So, if the answer in this question is ENTIRE, it means that the question has to be related to quantity.. In this context the quantity of the house cleaned by Ashley. That´s why the appropiate question for this answer is How much of the house did Ashley clean?
This is so helpful ..
Thank you, Benjamin for your lessons

wow i got 100, i can say im an attentive student and Ben is a good teacher.
Wouldn’t the sentence “Lisa is going to the library at five o’clock.” (questions 9/10) wrong? I think that if sentence is on present continuous, it shouldn’t have an hour specific (five o”clock).
Thank you so much !

Hi Benjamin,
Thanks for your video in EngVid, it’s pretty good and very helpful for me.
My question is which sentence is correct: “Which question does the following sentence answer?” or “Which question does the following sentences answer?”. Because this case there are many sentences.
Today I was well. Thanks so much for this lesson.
