“Used to”
and “would”
can both be used to talk about things that were done in the past, but there are differences in how we use these. In this English lesson, you will learn exactly when to use “I used to…”
and when to use “I would…”
. We will also talk about the natural pronunciation of “used to”
.

thank you Ronnie, i really loved to watch your lessons. always make me laugh :)
Thanks Ronnie but…..
“When I was younger, I used to visit my grandmother in Virginia every Christmas.”
It’s over, I’m not young now so it seems to me that “used for” would be more appropriate than “could”.
What is your opinion Ronnie?
the answer should go with & would * because there is * every * in * every Christmas * so here is a routine action there.
Thank you
Thank you, I did not understand it too
But now it’s clearly
I agree with you but in other side it is also past habit we don’t do now. “When I was younger, I used to visit my grandmother in Virginia every Christmas.” (But now I don’t)
I think this sentence is so confusion xD
Thanks Ronnie!I would study English every day!

Thanks teacher 👌
thanks my teacher igot 6
I agree with beernaad on question no. 5. When I was younger tells us that the person who’s saying it is not younger anymore and so the habit became a past event. Then how come would is better?
the answer should go with & would * because there is * every * in * every Christmas * so here is a routine action there.
Thanks Ronnie, I really love and enjoy your lessons, and the most important, the way you teach us! :D

Thank you so much Ms.Ronnie
I really love this lesson
I humbly thank you! I used to watch your videos every day. you are a fantastic teacher.
Thanks for the lesson Mrs ronnie
Thanks a lot Ronnie. I downright stan your dynamic and natural way of explanation of very complicated aspects of grammar. I used to feel confused and daunting while dealing with ‘used to’, ‘would’, ‘get used to’, ‘be used to’. But now I understand the difference between them.
And I`d like to amplify to your explanation. When it comes to ‘would’, I guess it concerns our nostalgia about something as well as a piece of routine.
Thanks
A clear and easy way to explain
Thank you
Hi everybody, I don’t understand this lesson. For example. When I was yonger, I would visit my grandmother in Virginia every Christmas. Why is “would” if is saying “When I was yonger” so Is not younger any for. For me the correct answer is “Just to” but is wrong I don’t understand why.
Thank you
the answer should go with & would * because there is * every * in * every Christmas * so here is a routine action there.
