They are language games which use logic, but which also play with words in a way that is meant to trick you and make you say “A-ha!” when you figure out or learn their solution. It’s funny to learn new meaning of English words
with riddles. As hands for an analog clock. In German we would say “pointer” if this word exsists in English.
