Sorry, Ronnie, but, unfortunately, Hitler is still popular with some extremist groups of people here in Europe, but I wouldn’t call him famous – there two words in English that mean ‘widely known in a negative way’: ‘infamous’ an ‘notorious’ … So Hitler was certainly a ‘notorious political figure’ but definitely not famous … Just my two cents …

Hi Ronnie,
Your lessons is very useful and funny :)
I have a bit confusion in this question “Can someone be popular, but not famous?”. The answer is “Yes”.
But in my understanding: If you are ‘popular’, it means: a lot of people like you. And “know” always before “like”. So a lot of people know you–>You are famous.
I’m looking forward your reply
Thank you very much ;)

Thank You Mrs Ronnie

If you are ‘famous’ the option says “a lot of” people know who you are. In fact, a lot of must suppose to be used with something that you like. So the option must suppose to be: “too many” people know who you are. I mean to say- If you are “famous”, it means, too many people know who you are. Is that correct?

l do not understand how can someone be both famous and popular? if someone is a popular, isn’t that enough?
dreamerbeyondthedarksun
You can be popular without being famous—for example, “Zeynep is the most popular girl at my school.” Lots of people know her and like her, but she is just an ordinary person.
You can also be famous without being popular. A political leader or a football team owner might have lots of people who know about them, but don’t like them.

Thank you Ronnie, I like you. ^____^
Sorry, Ronnie, but, unfortunately, Hitler is still popular with some extremist groups of people here in Europe, but I wouldn’t call him famous – there two words in English that mean ‘widely known in a negative way’: ‘infamous’ an ‘notorious’ … So Hitler was certainly a ‘notorious political figure’ but definitely not famous … Just my two cents …
very enjoyabll Ronnie

The quiz was saying, in the answer to the question number 9, that someone can be popular, but not famous at the same time, what does not seem to me as anything going with, what has been mentioned in the above video and I personally can not find any example of that, considering the meaning, that has been mentioned in the above video. Does anyone can??
9. Can someone be popular, but not famous?
Yes.
No.

Hi Ronnie,
Your lessons is very useful and funny :)
Thank you very much ;)
it’s very good Ronnie.I loves you ,It’s help me a lot.
can someone be popular bu9. Can someone be popular, but not famous?
Yes.
No.
ans yes
in my view ans should be no… one become famous and then become popular…popular is a subset of famous
The Way your teach Ronnie is outstanding :) !!

Thanks Ronnie, you’re the best teacher!!
Thank you very Mrs

ronnie is didn’t know exact meaning of these words.thank you the lesson was so funny.

Thanks!
The quiz was very nice. I really enjoyes it.thankyou ronnie
Very nice
l do not understand how can someone be both famous and popular? if someone is a popular, isn’t that enough?
You can be popular without being famous—for example, “Zeynep is the most popular girl at my school.” Lots of people know her and like her, but she is just an ordinary person.
You can also be famous without being popular. A political leader or a football team owner might have lots of people who know about them, but don’t like them.
