adjective clauses
, of which there are two in this sentence. Can you see them? In some grammar books, you may see the adjective clause called the relative clause
. Don’t get confused — they are the same thing. In this lesson, you will learn the difference between the two types of adjective clauses — the defining adjective clause
, and the modifying adjective clause
. I’ll also answer a common question people have about clauses: “Should I use a comma or not?”. After this lesson, you will be able to spot adjective clauses of all forms and use them to take your English writing and speaking to the next level.

Hi, Adam!
First of all, thank you so much for your amazing grammar lessons, I really enjoy watching them!
And I have a question, may you please make it clear for me? I’m little confused with the sentence “Many students…”, where there are two ajective clauses. You have used the commas with the first clause and haven’t with the second one, which means the first – modifying and the second – defining. Isn’t it other way around? ‘Cause “that’s going around” is just an extra information about the flu and “who went on..” is an important addition defining the students.
Am I wrong? Thank you in advance:)
Hi Brain,
The flu that’s going around is specific to the current flu, not the sickness in general. As for the first adjective clause, you could say it’s identifying, meaning you can remove the commas, but technically we identify them as the kids in Mrs. Reynold’s class, and the fact that they went on the field trip gives extra information to suggest where they might have gotten sick.
Does this make sense?
I got 8, I’m feel ok ´cause I think is a little hard to understand, but thanks was really interesting.
10/10 , thanks very much Adam.but i still have not understand why in this quiz you put the question “There are two types of adjective clauses?” , while in the lesson ” Dependent clouse ” you said there are 3 types : identifying , non identifying , and situational ?
i repeat my thanks, and i’m glade to be with you.
(-_-)
Good question Struggle. Technically, the situational is non-identifying. I guess I wanted to separate it for the lesson to show another function (i.e., not to a single noun but a whole phrase.)
i don’t know how to thank you. those lessons helps me very much, and it is very kindness to reply me
Hey, Adam, why does your face get read when you talk about your grammar fanaticism :-)?
I’m a fan of grammar too (of Spanish grammar) and I think your lessons are brilliant (and, even, fun!). Thank you very much!

-Gasoline only allows the carburetor to run smoothly when mixed with about fifteen times its wight in air (no comma)
-only when mixed with about fifteen times its wight in air does gasoline allow the carburetor to run smoothly. (no comma)
-when mixed with about fifteen times its wight in air, gasoline allows the carburetor to run smoothly (with comma)
right ?
Yup :)
Good job. (the only thing is that the last example doesn’t have the qualifier ‘only’ which subtly changes the meaning).
Also, weight.
Some confused!
Watch it again Terrysam. It might be clearer then ;)

Very good class! Thanks!
Thank for this good lesson.
Thank you Adam. I got 8 out of 10. I will watch your lesson again in order to fully understand it.
Thank you alot
I got you more knowledge
Adam I’ve heard many times that “WHOM” sounds a little strange nowadays.
It’s formal, so some people think it’s pretentious. Nevertheless, it is correct :)
Hello, Adam. I really like watching and listening to your lessons, hopefully, one day I should become as good as you are. I am to become a teacher soon, I have one year left till graduation, and I would like to ask a question. When we did grammar, we were generally taught that for expressing possession “whose” is mainly used for animate objects (i.e. people), and “which” for inamiate objects (not living things). During your lesson, you used an example sentence like “the car whose left door is sratched…”. Let me demonstrate with these:
The man whose car got scrathed yesterday lives next door.
In this sentence, the adjective clause “whose car got scratched” identifies the man (as it is a defining/restrictive relative clause). That’s OK. But have a look at these two sentences:
[1] The house whose roof leaks is very old.
[2] The house the roof of which leaks is very old.
Clearly, the house is an inanimate object, so which of the two sentences (relative pronouns, to be more exact) would you say is more correct or frequent in the situations when the possession is related to a thing?
I also know that “that” can be used to refer to people, as it sounds more general in certain situations, like in:
[3] Martha has a baby that cries a lot.
Let me know what you think about these.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Regards.
Hi Mare! I guess you should read a lot. And not only grammar. Sorry.
Hi Mare,
For some people the ‘who’ in ‘whose’ is hard to get over. They feel it doesn’t make sense to use it with things, but it’s just a possessive, and things do have things belonging to them
As for your examples:
[1] The house whose roof leaks is very old.
[2] The house, the roof of which leaks, is very old.
Notice that I added commas in number 2. Preposition + which is always going to be a non-identifying clause. #1 is identifying. Both are correct, but serve different purposes.
As for ‘that’, it can be used for people. Keep in mind, though, that a baby can be a boy or a girl and until its gender is identified, the baby is an ‘it’, which makes the ‘that’ easier to use.
Hope this helps.
Thank you Adam for making all this clear for me. I used to get confused with them. I got 08/10.
Excelent! thank you Adan.
The more you explained to me, the more frustrated I felt. Although you explanation was very good, this is an advance lesson that I was hardly able to understand. Where can I get more explamples like these ones?. I need to practice a lot.
Hi Cart,
You should probably get yourself a good grammar book. I recommend English Grammar in Use, by Raymond Murphy, or Fundamentals of English grammar by Betty Azar.
I will make more videos about this stuff as well ;)

Keep practicing. It’ll be 10 soon enough :)
Hello Adam!
Thanks for the video. It is quite useful, indeed. I also love grammar (no matter the language), that is why I appreciate your lessons.
Besides, I did’n know the pronoun “whom” could’t be used as a subject, but only as an object. I though it was just a formal version of the pronoun “who”. I thank you for putting some light in this point. ;)
Bye for now!
Hi Mr. Adam, i want to know what is the wrong in this sentence”I regret to have damaged your book”
may you please tell me the correct answer!thanks in advance.
Hi Randa,
I regret having damaged your book.
Even better: I regret that I damaged your book.
Thank you very much.
I have got 9 correct out of 10, which is not bad.
Appreciated your effort ,Thanks
Thank you Adam!!
Great lesson
OMG!I unexpetedly got10/10.It was such a wonderful Lesson teacher you really make the hardest things so easy for us.Teacher please make a video on understanding quotations it really troubles me to understand like the one I read by Tao Yuanming “An human life how should it not be hard?from ancient times there was none but had to die” although it has very simple sentences but I am still unable to understand it rather my mind just stop working after going through a combination of such weird sentences teacher please explain me its meaning and also I don’t know how to use this expression “Come to think of it” in my conversations.
Hi Eichi,
I think I’ll need a bit more context for the Yuanming quote. Can you give the sentence before this one?
Come to think of it basically means actually…, or Now that I think about it…
It means that the point of discussion has led to a new idea.
:)
Thank you so much Teacher for the explanation,as for the sentence before the quotation,I actually came across this quotation in a drama.i can send you the clip of that part of the drama but since there isn’t any option here so I will try to send you that on twitter.
THANKS adam your lesson is really good.
Hello Adam can you explain difference between words devotion, commitment, loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness?
Hi Roman,
devotion means giving yourself to something (a person, an idea, a movement, etc.)
commitment is more of a promise to continue with something, someone, a relationship, etc. (more to the promise than to the person/thing receiving the promise)
loyalty means not leaving someone (or a company, etc.) Sticking by someone’s side even in hard times.
fidelity means not cheating or betraying. staying with one thing.
Faithfulness is similar to fidelity.
Actually, all of these can be synonyms in certain contexts.
Hope this helps a little.
Hi Adams How are you? I hope you are doing well.
Adam my question is what is the difference between wake and awake? and when must I use them? are they interchangeable?
Thank you!!
best wish!
Hi The Best,
wake is a verb that you do to someone (or to yourself), and awake is an adjective (not asleep) or a verb in which a person leaves sleep (she awoke to the sound of laughter).
They are not interchangeable.
Also, wake can be a noun meaning the ceremony after a person dies (be careful as this is called ‘a wake’–two words).
Thank you, Adam!
Thank you a lot, Adam. You really creared this up for me! I absolutely admire your videos btw :)
Hi Teacher Adam. Please make a lesson (react vs respond). Thank you!
I’ll see what I can do Lou :)
Thanks a lot! This class is just what I needed cause I’m studying this topic in my course.
I got a question about the quiz. In question 7 I chose ‘which’ because, in the textbook I use, it’s mentioned that you can use ‘that’ or ‘which’ indistinctly for things. And I thought that rule could be used for ‘Macbeth’ that is a play in the example. (Sorry if I made a mistake, I’m improving my English).
Well that’s it. Thank you again and have a nice week.
Hi Ramiro,
Remember that Macbeth is a name of the play, so it’s already been identified, so we need a non-identifying clause, which start with comma which.
The lesson is so great
Thank you Adam
Finally someone who makes me love the English language. Thank you very much Adam!
Thank you Celine. I’m glad to have done that :)
Thanks Adam, I am very interested in your classes and do the quiz after class. Is there any way to get Certificate?

I got 8 out of 10 thanks to your clear and meaningful lesson ^^ I hope that I can improve my English which I’m still not good at :3
50 but I’m learning thank Adam
Thanks for the lesson Teacher! It is very useful to answer questions that have many situations of adjective clause’s applications, especially to improve our writing and reading.
Thanks Adam, but i want to know about “that’s”. does the word “that” (pronoun) should use ‘s?
Hi Fahriza,
That’s can only be a reduction of that is or that has. It is never a possessive.
Hello my loveliest Teacher!! I was listened for a several time this video and now it’s clear!
Thank you very much!
Hi Adam: Is it right to use “more than one tense in a sentence”? For example: I have analyzed the report, but I did not find it useful. I am not sure whether this sentence is correct or not. I would appreciate if you clarify this in one of your lesson.
Will do Jatin :)
Thank you so much Adam, you are the best. I get 90. You make me understand what I missed in the class last week, so thank you so much
Hey Adam!
Thanks a lot for the fantastic video!

Thanks for your reply! :)
I got 9 out of 10 thanks so much. I know that I have to study harder to improve my English skills.
Greetings from Colombia.

Hi Mr Adam,
I love the way you taught us ,that makes it easy to understand which is absolutely fabulous. I do appreciate in advance for those relative clauses you taught us because I was always struggled to figure them out how are they functioned in my writing but now I fell different on that issue and again thanks a lot for sharing that knowledge.

i wanna ask u what is the function of the adj clause ?
Hello, Adam. The word “to” is missing in the phrase “have to go summer school”, isn’t it? If I’m incorrect, could you, please, help me to understand why. Thank you in advance.
Hello Adam, thanks for all the efforts you are making to help us:)
We are all waiting for ur adverbial clauses video, please try to make it as soon as possible exams are on the door
Hello, Adam. Your lesson is vivid and makes a deep impress on me.I have a question about relative clause
7. The class was taken to see Macbeth __________ is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays.
Why is the answer B not A?
And what does it mean about non-identifying? Thank you.
the best teacher in the world are on Engvid
What type of clause is this?
” With his wife’s disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it’s suspected that he may not be innocent. “
Adam, you said that we shouldn’t use ‘whom’ with a verb. What about this sentence:
WHO/WHOM will help the book?
thank you in advance
sorry, I’ve had a mistake
question: WHO/WHOM will the book help?
assertion: the textbook will help the students
Thank you, Mr. Adam. Your lesson is very useful. I got 80 right
Hi Adam,
I was curious to know the PERFORMANE of the WHICH in the sentence below, please help me.
The line graph illustrates the amount of three kinds of spreads(margarine, low fat and reduced spreads and butter) which were consumed over 26 years from 1981 to 2007.
was it adverbial? if is it which on?
identifying or non- identifying
Or noun clause as object, as adjective complement etc…
dictionary says “homesick” is one word?
Hi again
Does “about whom the public knows little” identify the billionaire? So why is there a comma?
Hi Adam,
I am really learning good English from your classes, thanks a lot for that.
Larry failed his test as a result he has to go to summer school. Is this sentence correct using ‘as a result’ instead of ‘which’ ?
Thanks,
Anilkumar
God bless you
Hello Mr Adam,
can you please explain to me
what is the difference between those sentences:
I want to play
I wanna play
what more Appropriate?
want to =wanna ,same meaning, but “wanna”is usually used in oral English. when you write ,using “want to “is more proper.
Hi Adam! Thanks for this important lesson, which was taught so majestically!
For curiosity and comparison, in Portuguese there is a relative pronoun with possessive function, “cujo”, similar to “whose”, but that we can’t use in cases when the possessor is a thing. This is what the formal grammar says, but nowadays, anyway, almost everyone uses with a thing as the possessor.
oh my God.i got 9/10 I can’t believe it You’re amazing thank you so much adam
In the example: “Nancy is impatient with detail and routine, which is why she has hired Paul and Mandy to manage her business”. May I replace WHICH IS WHY for That is why ? what’s the difference? thnks!
Hi Adam, I have seen all of your videos at least once, many several times. Yet, I can not figure out the correct punctuation for the following sentence and would love your input.
“They’re just dreams,” he keeps on telling himself; even though, they seem all too real.
This punctuation is correct: joining two ICs which are closely linked with a semi-colon and a comma after the introduction words “even though.”
However, I believe that the second IC should be subordinate to the first, and it should modify “dreams.” To me, the second IC doesn’t seem to be a complete thought (something is missing), at least in my mind, but then, I am the writer. What would be the correct punctuation?
Another approach which I was thinking of was to use “even though” as a transitional word linking the two ICs. That would make the second IC (even though, they seem all too real) subordinate to the first, which is really my intent. I want the reader to focus his attention on “They are just dreams,” he keeps on telling himself. That part has the greater punch and is more impactful written in that way.
So, any light you could shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Jose
Hi Adam.
i got 7/10!

Adam, I need your help :)
I have the following comment on Facebook: “Every single day, he and Johny Ive come to the Apple’s headquarters in a hope that they’ll see a confirmation from iCloud in which it is said a new user from NY has confirmed his membership in iCloud”
It’s confusing to me whether we need commas before and after “it is said” in the comment.
I understand that it’s possible to rebuild the structure of the comment but I’m interested in whether it is correct or no.
It would be a good idea to simplify the comment, but I want to be great in complex/multi-clause sentences as well (:
Hey Adam I saw your videos on youtube and I am trying to work on my writing skills. I am appearing for IELTS on 8th of April and I am really scared as there is no way to verify how much band score am I getting. Will you help me out with this ?
I got 5/10 which is bad.. I’ll learn more. Thanks again

1. The English teacher who teaches on engvid makes us easy to understand.
2. We are comfortably learning English from sir Adam, who teaches on engvid.com.
Are both the sentences correct?
hello teacher,
The singer has denied the magazine’s claim that she is leaving this band. Dose this sentence include an adj clause? that clause is an adj clause ?
Despite I got 10 , I still have to keep on working on it.
Tks Adam !
Hi Adam, I got 7/10, thanks for your good class,it really helpful.
I have a question,
If there are two Dr. Smith in a company, and I want to describe as defining way, for example, “I’ve sent an email to Dr. Smith who works in Reach Department is from Australia.”. Is this sentence correct in this situation ?
Hi Adam.I am a little bit confused. We use the definite article ‘the’when the listener/reader knows which thing we mean,so what we say about a noun which has ‘the’ is extra because we know which thing so why do we use defining clause in ‘The man who lives next door is a doctor’.And in’The eccentric billionaire, about whom the public knows little, donated millions to charity,’ we have the definite article ‘the’ but we use a non-defining clause. Thanks in advance
it was hard. my score is 50
Thanks for the class.I have got 90%. :)
Please check
Mr Adam,Who is a English teacher ,are many students participate engvid course, which means this lesson easy to understand
Thanks for the class. I have got 90%. :)
Hi Adam, Please correct my below sentence.I tried my best. But Unable to find the correct one.
“I left my previous organization because the project which I was working got over and delivered to the client.”
My doubt:
I left my previous organization. -> Independent Clause.
because the project, which I was working, got over and delivered to the client.-> Dependent Clause
,which I was working, -> Relative Pronoun, talks about my project. And as far as I know, I can set off it by a comma.
Becuase -> I am using it as subordinating conjunction, so don’t want to use Because Of.
Should I use “Was working” or “Had been working”
It would be very nice If you can correct it. I am preparing for an exam, so It will be very helpful to me.
1.
Thank you, Adam! This is my first lesson on that subject and was really useful!! Thank you!!!
thanks for your great efforts

adam, thanks for your video. I just wondering could you please add some videos for how to brainstorming for writing an essay and how to develop main ideas with examples thanks
hello Adam.
this is my problem.
when I read I find something like this:
noun(1) + verb + noun(2) + an adjective clause
my questions is when there is no “,” between the noun(2) and the adjective clause.
is the adjective clause modifying
the first noun(1) or the second noun(2)?.
I have a example here
“WCF supports publishing service metadata USING formats specified in industry standards”
in this case, USING is modifying to WCF or PUBLISHING SERVICE METADATA
I do not know if WCF is using the formats or PUBLISHING SERVICE METADATA is using the formats.
what you do is awesome, thank you so much
if you recommended a book about this grammar, that would be great
Thank you Adam, very well explained.
I do like your approach to teaching, you’re very meticulous, which helps me to understand everything. Carry on. Best regards!
Hello Adam .thanks for your perfect teaching about noun, adjective and adverb clause .but I’m looking for your video about adverb phrase and I couldn’t find it yet.I have an important exam this week about phrases .if you teach adverb phrases ,l will really appreciate it.

Very excellent work Adam.
Adam , who taught adjective clauses to me, is an English teacher. What a great lesson Adam. I felt (that) Complex sentences are difficult to understand. But you made them very easy. Thank you so much.
10 out of 10
:D :D
Thanks Adam.
I feel really lucky to have come across your videos.
Thank you very much!
I loved the Quiz and I’m very happy with your channel!
Love all of your lessons.
The best part of quizzes is the explanation of each answer. I may be got the answer correctly, but the way of thinking is wrong. Like sentence 9, I thought “whom” was the object of looking for, but the explanation showed otherwise. I value this explanation. Thank you very much.
You are the best teacher
And I am your new student
Adam, Why in the question 9 the relative pronoun cannot be “Who”?

Dear Adam,
I still get confused in terms of the use of “Appositive”
Is “Appositive” a part of noun clause or adjective clause?
here is the case..
John, the most popular polyglot at that time passed away last night.
John, the most inspiring person who attended the event last night passed away.
Those examples make me confused because both of the dependent clauses modify John.
Thank you in advance!
thank you, it is really helping a lot but I am still confuse between who and whose.
Adam the angel, who described the identifying and modifying clauses, helped me score 9 out of 10. :)
Thanks a bunch
I really appreciate your teaching

Hello, Adam! I’m confused about word ‘homesick’. In the lesson you use it as a disease. But doesn’t it mean ‘feel unhappy because you’re away from home’?
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/homesick
Great lesson, thank you
Thank you so much my teacher. I got 8 out of 10.
Hi my teacher.i got 9 out of 10. In one of the questions the noun was ‘the man’ that the noun clause of which was defining. I think the man is a man that the listeners know who he is. So why the noun clause had to be defining? For example the man that…. not the man , who…
Sorry the adjective clause of which…
Hi!
Thank you for everything!!
In your example sentence: “Frank went to study in Boston”, the preposition ‘in’ really confuses me; could it be ‘to’?. If not, what is the difference?

Hi Adam.thank you for great grammar lessons.I have two questions. In this sentence:”There are a growing number of British students going to study abroad”,”growing” and “going” are adjective participle?
how can i write this sentence in another way?
I mean i want to write this sentence with adjective clause to better understand
Mr.Adim this example (larry failed his test, which mean that he’ll have to go to summer school ) is it defining or non defining ?
Thank u very much❤?
Thanks Adam <3
Thank you Adam. These are so useful for me!
thanks for your great teaching, Adam. I did the quiz and answered all of them correctly, but I got 80 because of the first question. I chose relative clause for another name of adjective clause, but it says reflective is correct. I think there’s a problem with the answer specified

Hi Adam. Thanks for the lesson. One small thing I’d like to ask because you forgot to mention that do we put commas every time with preposition with a relative pronoun. Like the example “The eccentric billionaire, about whom……, donated millions to charity. Thank you.
Hi Adam, I really very confuse with restrictive and No restrictive adjective clause.
the teacher for example write one sentences and we have find the adjective clause, noun being modified, type of adjective clause what is the verb in the adjective clause, the subject of the verb (who is the agent), the object of the verb who is the receiver of the action, relative pronoun as; subject relative pronoun and object relative pronoun and an you make a reduction of the relative pronoun (y/n).
all in one sentences

Hi Adam!
In your video you are talking about how the relative pronoun „which“ can identify an entire clause. Would you call it a „Sentinental relative clause“ or is that something different?
Hi Sopht18,
i’ve never heard about „Sentinental relative clause” before. Could you expand your thought?
Thank you, Adam, for your classes amazing than ever.
Hi,
i’ve just completed the quiz before watching the video. As I got used to it.
I don’t want to brag since i’m used to being a modest person. But i got 10 out of 10.

“An american family paid the highest amount of money for special goods and services($250),which went up to $270 over ten following years.

Hi Adam, I am very confused between these two, which one is correct?
A) Yesterday I met one of my old friends who was with me in school.
B) Yesterday I met one of my old friends who were with me in school.
In my opinion, I think both are correct. But my English teacher says that ‘B’ is correct.
You are the only one around the world who can solve it. Whatever you will answer i will show to my teacher.
Thank you. I love your teaching Adam.
Thank you so much! I got 10 out of 10. This lesson is very useful
hello, Mr.Adam thank you for this nice explanation. Can you help me with how to identify the position relative clause in the sentence as subject and object? Thank you.
Thanks Adam! getting better 9 out of 10!!!
I made a mistake in Q5…I had a doubt on it when I was answering due the comma.
I’m a little bit confuse between who and whom could you till me what’s the different between them please Mr.Adam
Hi Adam! Thanx for the video. Why do you put commas in the sentence about the excentric billioner? If we remove the relative clause from this sentence will we get the complite idea about the billioner? If I said the excentric billioner donated bla bla bla you might not understand what billioner I was talking about. Isn’t the relative clause used in this sentence critical for our comprehansion about that billioner?
Great lesson, but I am a little confused. I thought the word “that” is identifying and “which” is non identifying. Do you have a lesson on using that vs which?
Thank you Adam for the lesson. It helps me a lot
Thank you sir. Very much informative.
thanks sir adam
i got 9 out of 10

Hello Mr Adam,
I saw the video and did the quiz, it is useful and interesting, but I have a question that can we considered adjective clause and noun clause as an embedded clause .. thank you very much.
thanks, Adam for this great lesson. Your lessons help me in my exams and this pandemic situation.
Hi , please answer me??I chose “who’s” for tgis blank space . A person ______ unable to find a job with his/her qualifications should consider going back to school.but i got 90 because it says my answer was wrong and the true answer was “who” ! But how ?!
Hello from Cambodia!
I understand well. Thank you so much!
Hi Adam!
Thanks a million for this incredible lesson. Your lessons are utterly helpful. ❤
Btw, I have a question as there is still one thing I’m confused about while reading this topic on a grammar book.
How do we generally determine what a relative pronoun’s function in a sentence is?
A way I guessed may be true was to see whether or not the relative pronoun can be omitted. If it was possible to remove it, and yet the sentence made sense, it is the object. Otherwise it’s subject…
Ofcourse I’m not sure about what I said at all, so please tell me if I’ve got it wrong!
Thanks again.
Hi Adam! My name is Wanda and I’m studying at university to be an english teacher. I’m really thankful about your videos and the activities that you left after each one of them :)
Thank you so much! I was a little bit confused but thanks to your video I was able to understand everything :)
Great leçon. Thank you.
10/10 thanks for your help
This was much easier than the noun clause quiz. Still didn’t get 10/10 though :(
With that being said, I’m still forever grateful for your lessons, Mr. Adam! You won’t believe how much I’ve improved because of your lessons. Thanks a lot!
The woman who stole the money from the bank is a criminal. We do not use a comma because since we are identifying which woman it is, therefore, it is necessary to add the information to know which woman.
Jane, who has been shoplifting, is my next-door neighbour. We use commas in this passage to add extra information to the sentence, therefore, it is needed to add a comma. So, it is a modifying adjective clause.
Are my explanation correct for when to add commas and commas to adjective clause^?
Can someone edit my response if there are any errors involved? and when do we use an introductory comma? also when we use therefore in the middle of the sentence do we do ” …., therefore,…”.
I didn’t get the 9th correct.
Also, I didn’t understand the explanation given “the man is identified and the object of the verb nicknamed”, please explain in simple words
Many thanks
Thank you Adam, I’m your new student from Indonesia. Your explanation is very clear, glad to know your you tube channel :)
Thanks engvid
thank you
Hi adam, my question is :
what happens with this sentence”
“I am a fool who sits alone talking to the moon”
What happens with the “talking” . Is it a adjetive participle or what? and “who sits alone” is a defining relative clause?

Mr. Adam is the God of English Lenguage grammar.
thank you for efforts. how can we add the adjective clause in case of same period of time. for example: “Few people read this book in 1985. it was published in 1985.”
I hope this gets to you.
7 out of 10 :) well…
The relative clause is my favorite lesson.
I simply love the way Adam teaches.
Thank you Teacher Adam. I got 10/10.
Hi Adam! What about the second clause in this sentence – what type of clause is it: “It seems like they’re always working late, trying to finish everything on time.” “Trying to finish everything on time” – what type of clause is it? Why do we use -ing in it?
Hi Mr. Adam
Is it possible to take an online class?
Hello Adam.
Thank you for the great lessons that you’re providing.
I’ve got 10/10 but I am still unsure about my English because I need to practice it.
Although I watch lots of videos, my English doesn’t improve much because, like any language, you have to speak with a native speaker to get better.
Anyway when you gave the example: I am Canadian, I felt depressed because I want to be Canadian too (soon I wish).
This helped me a lot, thank you!
Hi Adam! I am your student. I would like to ask you a question. Is (In which) can be used in Identifying adj clauses?
Hello! Adam. I watched this video three times to understand how to use and differentiate between an identifying and a non-identifying clause.
The teacher who posts imperative English grammar information for students, belongs to engvid, and explains how to apply adjective clauses in our writing to perfection is from Canada.
Thanks for your help. (It is ok?)
Greetings from Machala-Ecuador.
9 out of 10.
The 6th question was a little confusing, I didn’t understand it. What does “the noun clause” mean?
hi, sir ı have a question about this topic: how can ı change this active voice to a passive question;

–
Thnks a lot!!
It is still confusing to me, I have just had 50% correct in the first time challenge.😢
