Very good and helpful lesson thanks Rebecca.
Hello there :) Thank you for this lesson. Anyway there is something which has been bothering me and now I ve got a chance to ask you. As you say ” Time is an uncountable noun ” but how come there are expressions such as: Have a good time or I had a lovely time. I guess it’ll be some sort of exception or fixed phrase. Thank you and take care :-)
I think a clue here in the different meaning of “time” in these examples. Here time means not just seconds, mins and hours but a process of spending time
Hi Pavel, maybe I can help. These are fixed phrases, but the difference is that “time” as a concept is an uncountable noun, but a person can have many “good times” or “bad times”. In these cases, “time” is almost a substitute for an “experience”. Hope this helps!
Great lesson, Rebecca! I got 100. Thank you!
Excellent Rebeca! I learned so much in this class.
So glad to hear it! Thanks for your feedback. My best wishes to you.
Thanks a lot !
Thanks teacher, I usually make some mistake like that…

we can help each other in learning english:d to improve our enslish…….
please add me ..my facebook:Sa Kuke
you have to say “I usually make some mistakes”
Hi Rebecca, nice lesson and thank you , but I have a small question for you please : what is the difference between it is complete and it is completed, thank you again , your student
There’s a very subtle difference between these two.
“It is not complete” suggests that a part of something is missing. “It is complete” means that something is done.”It is completed” also refers to the fact that the action has been finished. There are very minor differences so I would not worry about it too much. If you are writing to your boss about a project, report or task that had to be done you could write: I have completed the task. The active voice is more powerful anyway. All the best!
I sometimes confuse when I use “before” or “ago.”
Thank you for your helpful lesson, Rebecca :)
I recorded a lesson on that topic some years ago:
https://www.engvid.com/confused-words-before-ago/
Thanks for your feedback and all the best!

Hello Rebbeca! How are you?
I frequently do make mistakes like you taught. Especially spell and stress mistakes. Even when I leave comments here, I think I make many mistakes. So I’m not sure whether what I’m writing now is correct or incorrect. But making mistakes is necessary to improve my English skills. No pain no gain.
Your only mistake was in the spelling of my name – Rebecca! Otherwise, you write very well. All the best to you.
It was an important lesson. Thank you Rebecca.
I checked out 50 common grammar mistakes, fantastic! after I practiced little bit of the 50, I took, test your understanding. 90 score. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN
Thanks for your feedback on the lesson as well as the resource on 50 grammar mistakes. Clearly, your English will be much better once you avoid those errors. How wonderful that you have the motivation to improve and take the time to act on it. I wish you all the best.
I have to confess this use of enjoy is new for me. When I give a usable present, or a tip about leisure, like a movie in the theater I use to say : – Enjoy!
Is it wrong?
Thank you rebecca

thanks u so much Rebecca.
Good lesson.
Thank you
Hello Rabecca
thanks for bringing english rules.
so, saying this morning i woke up late, does not depend on the time i speak to…?
“I woke up late” means it was late:
a) compared to your normal waking time
b) compared to when you were supposed to get up
c) compared to when most people wake up
All the best to you.
Hi there. I have a question about the first sentence: Isn’t “I woke up late this morning” the right way to phrase it instead of “this morning I woke up late”? Or it doesn’t matter at all? Thank you!
Both are used. All the best!
Thank you my teacher you are the best.
i got to say that was pretty cool, go ahead teacher keep providing us your knowledge.
10/10 correct!
Thank you!
Thank you Rebecca,
I really enjoyed myself listening to this lesson . I advice everybody to look at the 50 common mistakes file and do the quiz . One question : is there an “s” at the end of mistake in my last sentence .
Thanks
In this case, because you were naming the file, you could write mistakes with or without the s. However, you need to say “advise” instead of “advice”. Check this older lesson of mine:
https://www.engvid.com/confused-words-advice-advise/
All the best!
100/100 got the perfect score, thank you.
I realy enjoyed myself :)
It was interesting to me :)
Thank you, Rebecca! I did not know about Reflexive Verbs before your lesson. It is knowledge of weight.
In that case, this lesson on reflexive verbs will help you:
https://www.engvid.com/intro-reflexive-pronouns/
All the best!
So simple but so useful lesson. Thank you Rebecca.
Thanks for your kind feedback, Katerina. You may find it helpful to watch this lesson:
https://www.engvid.com/so-such/
All the best!
Thank you, teacher Rebecca.
Can you please make a lesson about ( rather, fairly, quite ) Please and Thank you
I’m got nine question right :D
Thanks teacher, I usually make some mistake like that…
Hello Class!
i am confused, so i need a help.
if saying today morning… is wrong, in conclusion saying tomorrow morning is wrong too?
thanks class i hope more explanation
NO, it not wrong to say: tomorrow morning..
:D
For this “today morning” is a common mistake.. people see tomorrow morning and think they can use today morning..
This morning is more correct.
it is a matter of grammar, sense.. etc I think.. there are exceptions as well
I hope it helped
Bye!
:D
thanks for your intellectual subsidies, I can not study the language like mathematics as well
thanks again
Thank you very much Rebecca!!It´s always a pleasure to listen to your perfect accent and clear explanations ;)
I´m sorry, I forgot to ask you something. Is the resource material in pdf format or just my fault not finding it??Thanks in advance!!
It’s in our resources section:
https://www.engvid.com/english-resource/50-common-grammar-mistakes-in-english/
Take care and all the best!
I find it right now…I´m sorry :S
Thank you very much Rebecca, it’s my first quiz.
Thanks Rebecca!
Thanks Rebecca!! It was my first time here and I appreciate a lot!
Welcome to engvid! My best wishes to you.
9 in 10- so far so good! My first time!!!
Thanks Rebecca, this lesson is very useful!!!
Thanks a lot, REBECCA.
I have learned a lot from you for the past several years. May I ask if I can use “Today’s morning” substituting “this morning” in this lesson? For I want to emphasize “today”. Thanks.
No, sorry, you cannot say “today morning” or “today’s morning”. When you say “this morning”, people understand already that you are talking about today. If you really want to emphasize today you could say something like, “Today, in the morning…” but it’s not really necessary. My best wishes to you.
Hi,what if we use “VERY”.to emphasize TODAY. e.g.: this very morning.
This is really useful, thank you for your videos.
Thanks. I got 100.
thanks Rebecca…:) :)
Thanks a lot Rebecca, once again!!
If you were to visit Ibiza some day let me know.

Thank you.Very useful lesson.Got 10/10.
A great lesson, Rebecca! Can I ask something? We say “Sydney now is the land of mixed population OF people from all over the world” or “…WITH people from all over the world? Thanks.
Well, as you realized, it is awkward to use the same preposition twice in the same sentence so it is better to say “with people from all over the world”. Thanks, and all the best!
it is really useful
10/10 thank you Rebecca!
Thank you !
Thanks Rebecca!
Your lesson helped me to remove some of my recurrent English errors.

I really enjoyed myself with your courses. Thank you.
Thanks, Rebecca.
But I have a question.
“water evaporates.” or “water is evaporated.”
Which one is correct? If both are correct, in which case we should use the first one and the latter one?
“Water evaporates” talks about the general fact.
“The water has evaporated” is talking about a specific situation. Hope this helps! All the best.

Hello Rebecca,,
Come and sit ‘by’ me.
We stayed in a cottage ‘by’ the sea.
Come and sit ‘beside’ me.
He kept his bag close ‘beside’ him at all times.
He sat down ‘next to’ Pam.
There’s a public telephone ‘next to’ the pub.
It’s a little village ‘near’ Cardiff.
I don’t want to sit ‘near’ the window.
I’d like to live ‘near’ my parents, if possible.
The prepositions above are confusing words to me (by, beside, next to, and near)
Do you have a magic solution how to use them easily without any embarrassment?
I asked Mr. Alex this question and he answered:
No tricks, unfortunately. Just memorization and trying to think of the logic to them.
Near = close to
Beside = next to/directly to the left or right
By = around/near/close to
Sorry. Wish I had better news for you. :)
Alex is right! I do wish you the best and am sure you will master these points as you seem to be very motivated and determined. That’s the key to success, and you have it, my friend. All the best.
thanks Rebecca. This lesson is easy but important, I hope I will never make these mistakes.
Thanks Rebecca :)

Greetings,
Madam, i`ve gone through many vocabulary videos different teachers of engvid, and i`m happy to say that it worked out. But when it comes to grammar part I found it very stress full. I mean to say from where and which video i should start I`m not getting. In my school days I`ve referred Ren & Martin English grammar book actually it was a part of syllabus,I was able to understand what is noun, pronoun etc, but when it comes to change of tense of a sentence it was difficult for me, and was very difficult for me to recognize adverbs, clause etc. To be very frank i`ve mugged up answers to clear English papers, this is why I`m still very afraid of grammar part which is a back bone of a Language.
Kindly guide me how to overcome it. I want to improve myself grammatically in English.
Regards,
Thanks Rebacca!
I have the question about “some” in the task №4. We don’t use “some” in questions, only in positive sentences. We should use “any” in questions, don’t we?
i got 10..
I got 9 out of 10
I used to say listens instead of listen.
For example: She doesn’t listens to me.
Please comment on this if it is right
Doesn’t listen is correct
You are the best English teacher I have ever seen.
You are great!!!
Good day Rebecca!
I would like to ask you some questions regarding the lesson named as “50 common English mistakes” but I do not know how to contact you so I post here. The mistake number 29, the answer is: “We studied for four hours”. The question is why can’t we say: “We studied four hours” and what is the difference if we say: “We have studied for four hours”. Regarding the mistake No. 31, what’s wrong with “You cannot buy what you like!”? and mistake No 33 “My mother wanted that I be a doctor”. Regarding the mistake No. 44, whether “the dinner” or “dinner” without definite article is correct?
Thank you in advance.
My email: thangciao@yahoo.com

I can’t say that I have free time, but this evening was very usefully for me.
